The IHEC Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Mukdad al Sharify declared on 4 December that the average of voters' turnout is increasing to update their date in the voter register for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections in the whole of Iraq.

Mr. al Sharif y said that the number of citizens who visits the voter registration centers (VRCs) to verify their data was (25,366,34) until 3 December 2013. The number of voters who updated their data through the processes of change, additions and deletions was 784,471 during the same period.


He also pointed out that Basra province is still heading the first three provinces in the updating voter registration process, it followed then by Missan and Qadissiyah provinces. The term from 10 November to 3 December has witnessed the highest in the percentage of voter registration update process.  

 
The IHEC had previously extended the voter registration update period until 9 December 2014.
